First Aid / Bronze Medallion / Pool Lifeguard

The combined Senior First Aid / Bronze Medallion / Pool Lifeguard training program is a convenient and intensive course that can save you time and money.

Description

This training course will provide participants with all necessary industry qualifications required to work as a Pool Lifeguard in an aquatic centre in Western Australia. This is an entry-level qualification that can lead to an exciting career in the aquatic recreation industry.

This is a convenient one-week course that can save you time and money. You will gain the qualifications in first aid and lifesaving to become employed as a Pool Lifeguard.

Course Information

• Minimum Age Requirements: 16 years (generally 18 years to be employed)
• Course Duration: 40 hours
• Certification:
  On successful completion of the course and the on-the-job assessment candidates will receive a:
  • RLSSA Senior First Aid certificate,
  • RLSSA Resuscitation certificate,
  • RLSSA Bronze Medallion certificate,
  • RLSSA Pool Lifeguard certificate.
  • A Statements of Attainment that includes the following units of competence from the National Community Recreation Industry Training Package and National Health Training Package:
    • HLTFA301B - Apply first aid.
    • SRC AQU 003B - Respond to an aquatic emergency using basic water rescue techniques
    • SRC AQU 006B - Supervise clients in an aquatic facility or environment
    • SRC AQU 007B - Respond to an aquatic emergency using advanced water rescue techniques


• Course Fee: $490.00 (GST Free)
• Fee Includes: Professional instruction, pool entry and learning resources plus manuals.

On-the-job Assessment

To complete the on-the-job assessment of the course you must be able to access an aquatic facility to complete the three workplace activities in the on-the-job assessment logbook. The logbook is then forwarded to Royal Life Saving where an industry assessor will assess the documentation.
