Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104)

Aim

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) will provide candidates with the skills and knowledge to train and assess Vocational Training and Education participants within their chosen industry.

Description

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) applies to people for whom training is a large part of their job within a structured assessment and training system.

It is designed to assist those who have responsibility for training program development; individual, group and work-based delivery as well as the assessment of training participants or employees. The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is a generic qualification to enable you to deliver training and assessment in your areas of expertise or knowledge.

It is recommended that candidates either have access to, or currently work within a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) to complete the on-the-job assessment component of the course.

The training is broken into 3 clusters: Environment & Design, The Workplace Trainer and The Workplace Assessor.

The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) can be conducted in Perth and many other locations in Western Australia.

Correspondence Option

The Certificate IV in Training & Assessment course can be easily completed by correspondence. This allows you to commence the course whenever is convenient, and work at your own pace. To guide you through the course if you select the correspondence option, you can expect:

• Regular phone / email contact
• Feedback on activities / assessments as you go
• Access to the same resources as the 'in-class' participants

The correspondence option is offered at the reduced rate of $1200 and can be commenced at any time. Please contact the office on (08) 9383 8200 to discuss if you are interested.

Course Information

• Pre-requisite: Nil.
• Minimum Age Requirements: 18 years.
• Course Duration: 10 Days
• Certification: On successfully completing both the training course and the on-the-job component of the program, candidates will obtain the following units of competence:

  • TAAENV403B - Ensure a healthy and safe learning environment
  • TAADEL301C - Provide training through instruction and demonstration of work skills
  • TAADEL401B - Plan and organise group based delivery
  • TAADEL402B - Facilitate group based learning
  • TAADEL403B - Facilitate individual learning
  • TAADEL404B - Facilitate work-based learning
  • TAAASS401C - Plan and organise assessment
  • TAAASS402C - Assess competence
  • TAAASS403B - Develop assessment tools
  • TAAASS404B - Participate in assessment validation
  • TAADES401B - Use training packages to meet client needs
  • TAADES402B - Design and develop learning programs
  On completion of all units of competence the candidate will receive the following AQF qualification:
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104).

On-the Job Assessment

After attending the course, candidates are required to complete an on-the-job workbook that involves identifying learners who need training and assessment in a specific area. They will need to: identify a relevant unit of competence from a recognised Training Package; plan the training and assessment utilising competency based training principles; conduct the training and assessment; and review the training and assessment process. The workbook is then forwarded to Royal Life Saving where an industry assessor will assess the documentation.
