AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infants and Preschool Aquatics

Description

The Instructor of Infant Aquatics Course provides candidates with competence to deliver safe and enjoyable aquatic activity programs for children between the age of 6 months to 4 years.

It is advantageous if students have experience in teaching swimming and water safety program to school aged children.

Course Information

• Pre-requisite: Current Instructor of Swimming and Water Safety, AUSTSWIM or equivalent
• Minimum Age Requirements: 16 years (generally 18 years to be employed)
• Course Duration: 16 hours
• Certification: On successful completion of this course and the on-the-job assesment, participants will receive an Instructor of Infant Aquatics certificate and a Statement of Attainment.


• Course Fee: $230.00 (GST Free)
• Fee Includes: Professional instruction and learning resources. This course also includes the following Unit of Competency from the National Community Recreation Industry Training Package:
• SRC AQU 012A Foster the motor, cognitive and personal development of infants and toddlers in an aquatic environment.

Additional Requirements

Complete on-the-job assessment of infant instruction under the supervision of a qualified instructor.
