This program will provide up to date training for individuals in the use of an Automatic External Defibrillator AED.
Sudden Cardiac Arrest is one of the leading causes of death in Australia. A patient's chances of survival following cardiac arrest decreases every minute that passes before defibrillation is commenced. It is now known that early defibrillation can increase the chances of survival after a sudden cardiac arrest.
There is a growing trend in Australia to implement automated external defibrillators. These can have a positive impact on survival by enabling first aiders to respond with a life saving shock within the first 2 to 3 critical minutes when survival is so much more likely. The Defibrillation Training Course will provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to use automated external defibrillators.
