Bronze Rescue Strand
The Bronze Rescue award strand introduces participants to rescues and survival techniques ultimately resulting in the ability to respond appropriately in an aquatic emergency situation.
The Bronze Rescue strand includes the following awards:
- Dry Rescue
- Wade Rescue
- Accompanied Rescue
- Bronze Star
- Bronze Medallion
- Bronze Cross

Bronze Rescue awards develop the participant's knowledge and ability in the four key areas of aquatic rescues; judgement, knowledge, skill and fitness.
The Bronze Rescue awards develop the skills necessary to perform safe rescues from land and in the water whilst always conserving the rescuer's own safety.
Bronze Rescue classes promote a greater level of participant involvement than many of the other Swim & Survive levels, resulting in participants being encouraged to decide upon rescue techniques for themselves in initiative type situations.
The awards gained through involvement in the Bronze Rescue program are highly relevant to the workplace. For example, many occupations such as Lifeguarding and Teaching require Bronze Medallion and Resuscitation skills, which are taught throughout the Bronze Resuce program.
