About the Centre
Learning to become a confident swimmer is a vital life skill in our Australian climate. At VenuesWest we believe that swimming should be taught in a fun, safe and positive environment which promotes skill development.
Swimmers participate in group swimming lessons and are placed in classes according to their swimming ability. Using the RLSSA Swim and Survive Continuum, instructors focus on the development of swimming technique, water safety, water confidence and survival skills.

Services and Facilities
Parent/Baby Classes (6 months to 3 years)
Classes are designed to establish your baby's confidence and enjoyment of the water while bonding with you. Lesson guidelines are available on registration or can be collected on the first lesson.
Pre-School Classes (3 to 5 years)
Children will explore the water in a safe, supervised and heated environment. Classes are conducted without parent participation to allow children to establish their independence in the water and interaction with other children.
School Age Classes (5 to 15 years)
Structured on a series of levels, classes focus on stroke technique, developing strength and water confidence in a fun learning environment. These classes are based on the Royal Life Saving Society's Swim and Survive Levels 1 to 9.
Junior Lifeguard Club
This is an extension programme including Swim and Survive Levels 10 to 12.
Bronze Rescue
This programme provides activities for children who are not yet old enough to proceed with a Bronze Medallion Course. The programme includes Swim and Survive Levels 13 and 14.
Private Lessons
Whether you wish to start lessons for the first time or brush up on your technique, our private lessons provide you with the individual attention you need. Special needs classes are also available at discounted prices.
Our holiday swimming classes with Austswim and RLSSA qualified and experienced instructors are conducted during school holidays. These classes cater for children from three to five years of age. Children of six years and older are catered for in the Education Departments VacSwim programme.
