About the Centre
The original centre was built in 1972 - however the centre was refurbished with additions in 1999. The main attraction is to provide the whole community with as many aquatic, recreation, health, social and fun activities as possible and, in particular, to cater for all needs - ethnic, social, religious, disabled ie everyone.
The centre caters to the populations of Geraldton 19,000+, Greenough 11,000+ and surrounding districts 3,000+
The centre was honoured to receive the Heart Foundation Community Recreation Centre Award for 2000 Patrons and staff believe that Aquarena is the No.1 Aquatic Centre in Australia if not the world!!!
