Royal Life Saving can assist you develop the skills and qualifications required to instruct swimming and water safety classes and obtain the AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety award.
The AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety course will provide you with the skills and knowledge that are required to become a qualified swimming instructor and be able to conduct swimming lessons in a safe, efficient and effective manner.

To complete the on-the-job assessment of the swimming instructor course you must be able to access an aquatic facility and undertake practical teaching experience under the supervision of a qualified swimming instructor. You are also required to complete a number of workplace activities that are listed in the on-the-job assessment logbook. The logbook is then forwarded to Royal Life Saving where an industry assessor will assess the documentation. Completion of all assessment items is required to gain AUSTSWIM accreditation.

Additionally Royal Life Saving provides a number of Swim & Survive school swimming programs for private schools with their own pool. These programs operate over the busy Term 4 and Term 1 school period.
