The aim of the Royal Life Saving Swim & Survive program is to increase swimming and lifesaving skills for all Australians. The structure of our program ensures children are not only taught how to swim but also ‘when and were to do so safely’ teaching them the necessary skills to participate safely in all water related activities.

The Royal Life Saving Swim & Survive school swimming program provides private, catholic and independent primary schools the opportunity to participate in quality swimming and lifesaving lessons for preps through to year 7’s. The program offers qualified and professional teaching staff, instruction in stroke development, technique as well as lifesaving skills and above all a safe and enjoyable program.

How can my school get involved?

If you are considering participating in a Swim & Survive school swimming and lifesaving program, there are a number of options for your school;

  • RLSS can organise the entire program for you including instructors, enrolments, administration, and equipment. This can be run at your schools pool or an aquatic centre near by.
  • Alternatively, the school may become a Royal Life Saving Endorsed Swim School and run the program using your own staff, RLSS certificates and resources. RLSS will be happy to assist with administrative documents and staff training.
  • If you are already running an existing program and would like to incorporate the Swim & Survive package into your lessons we can also cater for this.

For more information on conducting a Swim & Survive swimming and lifesaving program at your school please contact us at Royal Life Saving Society WA to discuss.
