About Us

The Swim & Survive Lifesaving Unit undertakes the following key activities to facilitate the delivery of swimming and water safety education in Western Australia;

  • To raise community awareness and advocate participation in community education programs.
  • To support and maintain the community education delivery network.
  • To extend the community education delivery network in target areas and demographic populations.
  • Continued research and development of community education programs.
  • Support ‘at risk’ communities to over-come barriers preventing program delivery.
  • To provide accessible events for pool lifesaving sport participants.

Program Elements

RLSSA develops resources and delivers services that form the key elements of all three swimming and water safety programs. This consists of outcomes, assessment and delivery roles plotted against the needs of key stakeholders; the instructor, the provider (Endorsed Swim School) and the participant.
