A photo of a toddler being supervised while swimming.Royal Life Saving’s Community Health programs are based on the ‘systems’ approach to reduce injuries. This involves a sequence of steps from identifying the problem to evaluating the effects of the intervention. The process developed here involves four steps - Analysis, Planning, Implementation and Evaluation. Other models also used include the PRECEDE approach of Green et al.(1991) and the MATCH model of Simons-Morton et al. (1989) by putting the diagnostic process into action. It also incorporates elements of other key conceptual processes such as those of Haddon (1980) and Egger et.al (1999).
