Funding

Community Health projects are funded by a number of organisations – governnment, non government and corporate organisations. Community Health staff need to be aware of funding opportunities to source funding and to apply, through obtaining the particulars from the funding body (eg funding proposal forms, deadlines for applications etc)

Examples of Funding Agencies

Government:

Commonwealth
RHSET (Rural Health Support Education Training) Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care – funding up to $70,000 August each year.
Alcohol Education and Rehabilitation Fund.

State
Injury Prevention Unit, Department of Health of WA – KEEP WATCH Program
Healthway – Health Promotion Foundation
Department of Sport and Recreation
Department of Housing and Works – Aboriginal Housing and Infrastructure

Non-Government
BHP Billiton – corporate sponsorship
Save the Children Fund – small one off funding available up to $5,000
