There are a number of resources available to assist facilities to educate parents of the importance of supervision of young children at public swimming pool facilities.

Resources include pool signage, posters, stickers, information pamphlets and staff training packages.

It is important to note that each public swimming pool facility is different. Some facilities ask that all children under the age of five years wear a Watch Around Water wristband. This helps lifeguards and other pool staffs to more easily identify young children to ensure that they remain safe while in the water.

Meet Walter the Watch Dog!

Walter the Watch Dog is a new member of the Watch Around Water team and is working hard to visit public swimming pools throughout Western Australia to promote the Watch Around Water messages to parents and young children.

Registered centres can hire out Walter for their holiday programs, open days, family fun days or to just help them promote the Watch Around Water messages.

So keep an eye out for Walter … you never know where he might turn up!

NOTEThese resources are only available to registered Watch Around Water facilities. For information on how to register your pool, visit the Get Involved page.
