Research shows that Indigenous children are at a greater risk of drowning death, particularly in regional and remote areas. In addition, Indigenous communities are exposed to a diverse range of hazards and risks and therefore need additional information specific to their needs.
Western Australia has a large Indigenous population and therefore it is important to ensure that culturally appropriate Keep Watch messages and resources are available to these communities.
There are a range of water safety and toddler drowning prevention Keep Watch resources that are available for Indigenous communities. Please contact Royal Life Saving for more information.
