Lifeguard Challenge

Event Information

The Pool Lifeguard Challenge is a competition run by Royal Life Saving annually with the aim of testing teams of professional lifeguards. Teams of lifeguards are entered by aquatic centres throughout Western Australia to participate. Each lifeguard team must respond to scenarios given to them and deal with the situation at hand. Teams are assessed based on their response to incidents involving aquatic rescue, resuscitation and public relations.

The Lifeguard Challenge is an opportunity for aquatic centres to provide invaluable professional development for their aquatic staff as well as observing other aquatic facility’s teams react to the challenges presented by the competition.

The event receives significant support by major sponsor AVP Constructions. With the ongoing support received from AVP Constructions, the Western Australian aquatics industry is the beneficiary of such an event.

Ongoing support from the Western Australian Local Government Association (WALGA) and LIWA Aquatics ensures this event has excellent support from the aquatic and local government industries. The 2008 Pool Lifeguard Challenge is to be held on Friday 21st November at Royal Life Saving.
