

Honours Awards – Recognising Acts of Rescue and Resuscitation
The Royal Life Saving Society Australia is committed to recognising the efforts of its dedicated volunteers and contributions and achievements by individuals or organisations. Commonwealth, National and State Honours are awarded annually to people making a significant contribution to the mission of the Society.

Rescue Cross
For outstanding aquatic rescue / resuscitation events for either the general public and professional sector, where the degree of difficulty and / or the candidates skill / age level is such that the committee recommends the highest award. The Rescue Cross is the qualifying award for the BankWest Rescue Shield. The award consists of a framed certificate stating the awardee and the citation for the award.
Rescue Medal
For aquatic rescue / resuscitation events for either the general public or professional sector, where the degree of difficulty is reasonable and / or outside normally expected conditions. The award consists of a framed certificate stating the awardee and the citation for the award.
Rescue Commendation
For 'simple' and normally expected aquatic rescue and/or
resuscitation events, especially for professionals conducting
their expected duties. The award consists of a framed certificate stating
the awardee and the citation for the award.
